Canadian Orthopaedic Trauma Society Research Grant
Eligibility:
Applications will be accepted from any COTS member, but preference will be given to young investigators within their first ten years of practice. Applicants who are not COTS members must have a co-investigator or sponsor who is a COTS member.
Deadline:
Proposals must be received by August 31 annually to be considered for funding beginning the following January.
The maximum funding available is $10,000.
Proposal Grading:
Proposals will be reviewed and graded in a blinded fashion by members of the COTS Research Committee for anticipated scientific merit, anticipated long-term impact on Orthopaedic Trauma care and general topic interest.
Grant Applications:
The authors of those proposals with high scores in the above categories will be invited to present their proposal at the COTS meeting at the annual OTA meeting. The grant application will be reviewed in an unblinded fashion by an assigned review team and will be scored. Researchers will be informed of the intent to fund or not fund their research project by December.
